"Championship Sunday” does not only apply to the New England Patriots. On Sunday, March 3rd, it also applied to the St. Agatha School girls’ basketball team. The girls went into Sunday’s game the number three seed ready to take on the number one seed and defending champs, St. Catherine’s of Norwood. The match up was a good one, with a low scoring first quarter, but St. Catherine’s slipped into their groove and pulled away. The SAS girls played their game and fought hard, but couldn’t close the gap. St. Catherine’s won 45-21.
Thank You to Mr. Costello, Mrs. McEvoy, and Mr. Jolley who have coached these girls to an amazing season! The girls and their coaches are now anxiously awaiting word on whether they qualified for the CYO Tournament or not. Fingers crossed their season continues on!
