The delivery of medication in school is regulated by the Department of Public Health and has specific guidelines in place for the safety and well-being of your child as well as confidentiality. Medication is dispensed at school when it is determined that it is essential for the treatment of your child.
If your child needs to take medication in school:
Medication must be in the original container.
All medication must be kept in the nurse’s office.
Written permission from a parent or guardian must be sent in with the medication.
Tylenol and/or Advil may be given to students in Grade 6, 7 and 8 with parental permission.
