On the evening of March 8, 2025, Saint Agatha School hosted its highly anticipated Gala & Auction at Granite Links Ballroom in Quincy. Despite the chilly winds, the evening was filled with warmth, excitement, and an overwhelming sense of community. With a stunning sunset painting the sky, guests gathered for a night to celebrate the school’s ongoing commitment to excellence and to raise crucial funds for its future. Over 150 attendees came together to participate in a fun-filled night of bidding, dining, and dancing.
Guests enjoyed an exciting online silent auction, featuring a curated selection of class baskets and valuable packages, unique teacher experiences, plus a fun raffle brimming with gift cards. A standout moment during our cocktail hour was the opportunity to win a highly coveted scratch ticket board, with a cash prize that added an extra layer of thrill to the event.
As the evening progressed, guests were treated to a delicious dinner. With the food fueling the fun, the dance floor came alive, with guests of all ages dancing to lively tunes. Kevin O'Connell, DJ KevMack created a joyful environment, with everyone coming together to celebrate the spirit of Saint Agatha School.
The 2025 Gala & Auction wasn’t just a celebration of the school - it was also a chance to reflect on its future. One of the evening’s most inspiring moments came when Eileen McLaughlin, Superintendent of Catholic Schools, took the stage to share her vision for Catholic education in the Archdiocese. Her words resonated deeply with everyone in the room, as they reflected on the essential role that Saint Agatha School plays in nurturing the minds and hearts of young people. It was clear that Saint Agatha School is not only in alignment with McLaughlin’s vision but is also leading the way in providing a high-quality, values-centered education.
The evening also included powerful testimonials from members of the Saint Agatha community. Kedist Tewodros, a dedicated eighth-grade parent, shared a heartfelt account of how Saint Agatha School has positively impacted her family. Nora Vaughan, a bright and articulate sixth-grade student, followed with her own touching story, speaking about the school’s role in her personal growth and development. These testimonials were a reminder of the profound influence that Saint Agatha School has on its students and families.
The auction started with an engaging and entertaining presentation by Melanie Grace Gillespie from Mel-O-Drama, who served as the event’s host, bringing charm and humor to the night. Her energy set the tone for the evening as guests prepared to enjoy themselves. One of the evening’s highlights was the live auction, where attendees bid on incredible items such as luxurious golf packages, a vacation home on Martha’s Vineyard, and the opportunity to be a gym teacher for the day. Each item was carefully curated to offer something special for everyone, sparking friendly competition among the guests.
The live auction and paddle raise segments of the evening were highly successful, raising significant funds to support our mission. The generosity of attendees was truly inspiring, and it is thanks to their contributions that Saint Agatha School will be able to continue its mission of providing an outstanding Catholic education while also enhancing the facilities that serve both the school and the greater community.
A key part of the night’s program was the presentation of plans for the restoration and enhancement of the Monsignor Gallagher Parish Center, which houses the school’s gymnasium and is a vital space for students and community members alike. These proposed improvements are designed to expand the capacity of the facility, ensuring that Saint Agatha School can continue to serve its students while also providing valuable resources to the local community.
